Saunder × Standard Equipment

Josh from Standard Equipment has been a pal and an early supporter of Saunder. He helped us make the powder-coated aluminum signs we use to show off the sauna. They’re beautifully designed, considered, and have just the right amount of presence. And they look cool as shit.

Working together on the signs made us want to keep the collaboration going. We both like useful objects that are well made and don’t need to make a big fuss about it. So we started thinking about the little things that find their way into a sauna day: the bottle you bring along, a bit of incense while things heat up, somewhere to put your keys, (non-alc) beers or the odds and ends you’ve brought with you.

That turned into three simple objects: a bottle opener, an incense holder, and a utility tray. They’re not going to change your sauna routine. They just make a few parts of it feel a bit more considered.

The collection is designed, made, and shipped from Ontario, in a limited run. We’re happy to have made it with Josh, and even happier to see a friendship that started with a sign turn into a few more things we can share.

The Saunder × Standard Equipment collection is available now.
